In a side street near the university law school, is this hotel and restaurant that seems quite insignificant from the outside, but inside is a totally different story. The dining area is huge, serving traditional asador food from the wood fired oven. From suckling pig and lamb to steaks for meat eaters. And fish including monkfish roasted on the bone giving it extra flavour. Try the salad with Ibérico ham and melon, one between two people is enough. The clientele are mainly locals, so obviously a good sign . It's only open from 9.00pm to 11.00pm so don't expect to eat early. The house red was very good and reasonably priced. If you are traveling through Spain, it's worth stopping off in the town just for this restaurant.

Out from the center of Burgos, a hotel with a great restaurant. It was a very traditional place with traditional lechazo, and how delicious it was. We started with morcilla and a salad with cheese. Our son has croquetas and some of our lechazo. We went with a local bottle of red Cillar de Silos, 100% Tempranillo, an excellent wine to go with dinner.

There was food (fantastic blood sausage, suckling lamb roasted in a traditional oven, and cured cheese); there was wine (from the wine selection we chose a “crianza” from the same region, which was served at a perfect temperature); there was service (I guess, as we barely noticed the coming and going of the dishes, and they put up with our long time at the table).

This... read more Talk of regional specialities led us to here by recommendation. We were lucky as the last portion of wood fire grilled lamb was available for us to share. This is old school provincial eating in my opinion. Lovely white table cloths and a place to get your knees under the table and get on with what you came to do do i.e EAT! Really great...not cheap but authentic and really good value if you pick the local redion';s wine which is excellent
