The... read more We had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Butcher Shop Hotel. The restaurant features a charming decor that made it feel more upscale than a typical country pub. The menu offers a standard selection of pub fare, with a few unique twists. While the service wasn't particularly fast, it was satisfactory; it seemed they weren't fully prepared for the number of diners that day. However, the staff were friendly and accommodating. We only ordered main courses, which arrived in a timely manner. I opted for the avocado parmigiana with hollandaise sauce, and the chicken was tender and juicy, perfectly cooked. The portion of fries was quite large, though I left most of them uneaten. The hollandaise sauce was delicious, but it did somewhat overshadow the other flavors. My wife had the seafood pasta, which was abundant with seafood and very flavorful. We wrapped up our meal with coffee. Overall, it was a delightful lunch in a charming, less-traveled location.

The food was excellent and fresh, with the steaks cooked to perfection — just the right amount of medium rare. I've heard that new owners have taken over, and the staff was incredibly friendly and clearly knowledgeable. My friends ordered seafood and also raved about how tasty and fresh it was. The pub was bustling with people, and everyone was so welcoming. It’s a fantastic place! I’ll definitely be back and plan to book my next event there.
