Chicken Pantry - Bunnell
Chicken Pantry
Description
At a recent visit to a renowned Southern-style restaurant, diners reported a mix of experiences, primarily highlighting concerns over food quality and service. Many dishes, including fried chicken and sides like fried okra and mashed potatoes, were criticized for being overcooked, greasy, or lacking freshness. While some patrons enjoyed the cornbread and found the atmosphere reminiscent of home-cooked meals, others lamented poor service and disorganization, with servers seemingly overwhelmed and inattentive. The overall impression was disappointing, leading to a consensus that the establishment has fallen short of its reputation, though there are occasional glimmers of promise in specific dishes.

I want to be fair about my review. We went in after lunch. I'm almost sure they were sort of staff. My daughter loved her food. She had the chicken. I ordered liver and onions mashed potatoes and gravy and fried okra.My liver was overcooked my mashed potatoes was french fries and my okra was macaroni and cheese. And my unsweet tea was sweet tea .I did not complain or send my food back. My waitress looked Dead tired . So next time. I'm going to get the chicken ?.
Diverse menu and good southern food. So many options to choose from, even my picky eater found multiple things she'd eat! My fried chicken tenders and okra were great.
Service was prompt, food was served hot and fresh, cooked to near perfection. I kept it simple and ordered a wing dinner with fries and coleslaw. All items were more than decent although there was some confusion regarding the size of wings, they have 2 or 3 to choose from. The food wasn't overly seasoned which wasn't a bad thing. Bathrooms needed some attention and dining area could have been swept a little better there wasn't a crowd during my visit. I will definitely eat here again.
Honestly this was pretty gross. The fried chicken was hard and burnt. The rice I got with a side with gravy tasted like dishwater. There was literally only one girl serving and cooking and the other workers were just going in and out the back door. Their kids were running around in the kitchen and just yelling. I feel bad for the girl who was our serving because she looked really anxious. As bad as I feel this isn't a great place to dine. It's really gross..! Service: Dine in
The restaurant was empty. We walked in and stood around for a few minutes before anyone came out to seat us. They had no beer but they did offer to go next door and get some. I had a hot bacon spinach salad and added fried chicken on top. It was really good. Mom had a triple decker club sandwich, also really good. Dad wanted something, I forget what, but they were out so he had the meatloaf. There were people at two other tables when we came in. Nobody else came in by the time we left but our service was very slow and nowhere to be found when we needed something. The cake display had been pulled off the floor because it was broken. I asked if they were going out of business. The food was still really good despite the desolate feeling. PS. No, they are not going out of business.
