Angel was our server, she was great. our good was also wonderful. we sat only on the bar and divided a house salad, filet sliders, calamari, perfect. we were disappointed that we were the only ones. it's a nice place, maybe it's going to be 9 more busy. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Epic:
The meal tasted like it had been reheated. We ordered an 8-ounce sirloin, but what we received was sirloin tip, which was tough and dry. The popover resembled a dinner roll instead of having the light, airy texture expected; it was also hard and dry. This was our first and last visit to this restaurant. View all feedback.
Food tries to be too fancy for its own good and winds up being not good. They also don't accept groupons when they have special menus like for Valentine's Day. Which, they put out the day BEFORE Valentine's Day and wouldn't let me use my groupon so.... Yeah.
This was our first visit. Looking for something close to Kleinhans. What a pleasant surprise. New York ambiance. Good variety on menu selection and very reasonable. The staff were very personable and the owner was available to chat and check on our service. We will return!
This time was quite awful, not the food, the service. The waitress was wonderful, all alone and working like crazy. We ordered an appetizer, instead of telling us it wasn't available, the chef replaced it with a Caesar salad and brought it with our meal. We wanted an appetizer before dinner. And I cannot stand Caesar dressing so it sat untouched. We enjoy conversation and it was Friday night, our TGIF. The waitress apologized and it wasn't her fault. We could have switched appetizers. Usually a two martini evening turned into a one martini evening. The food was awesome, but we waited for a very long time to pay our bill, once again, not the fault of the waitress, she was alone with a crowd. Maybe get more help? Inform the chef that he can't just switch an appetizer without asking first? I am not sure if I will go back.
We had to wait quite a while in between plates. We had to ask where 's the desert. Although, it was restaurant week, we had reservations, and if the establishment has just so many tables, they should be able to adequately and efficiently handle those tables. The waitress was alittle overwhelmed and as a result we got less than the service we expected. The cheesecake was aweful, sorry to say. It was frozen and tasteless. Even my husband, who loves cheesecake said it was aweful. We will return, but not during restaurant week. Restaurant week used to be a great way to try new restaurants, but has turned into a new year 's eve type evening whereby you get a special, limited menu and poor service.
The food and service was outstanding. The Restaurant Week selection contained many choices and was three courses. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
