They always had a stuffed cow at the door, in later years somewhat motheaten, but the meat and fries (no sausages and offal for me - cholesterol problem) are still top notch. Worth a visit for old times's sake!

The waiter, Jose, had worked ther... read more La Raya is an old classic Buenos Aires restaurant featuring typical Argentinian food, served in simple style, silver platters. The waiter, Jose, had worked there for 28 years and was very directive in our ordering, which in the end was helpful although surprising during the ordering. We would start to order a wine or entrée and Jose would say, "No, order this instead". He was great and fun, but completely classic old school waiter. We ordered the salad, grilled sweetbreads, then the grilled lamb and beef intestines, then the beef short ribs. All were cooked perfectly, plain and simple, but expertly prepared. No frills presentation, just good food. We had chocolate mousse and Dulce de Leche crepes for dessert. Highly recommended.

They always had a filled cow at the door, in later years some motheates, but the meat and the fries (no sausages and internals for me cholesterol problem) are still top notch. A visit to the old times!
