What User doesn't like about Il Materello:
Tiene un restaurante original en La Boca, donde se come muy buena pasta. Su sucursal de Palermo no tiene el mismo vuelo. Es muy masivo, ruidoso, y algo caro. Afortunadamente posee promociones. No sé si es para dirigirse puntualmente a este lugar. Si están por allí coman, nada más. View all feedback.
With many restaurants to choose from around here, this has to be one of the best. Excellent, authentic Italian food; everything fresh and tasting wonderful. Good service, and nice ambiance in the restaurant. Will certainly be back next time we are in BA.
It’s away from the crowds of people and the complete tat that is sold at La Boca. A sweet little restaurant frequented by locals; we were the only tourists. Excellent courteous service and a setting with white tablecloths and white cloth napkins. The menu was...pretty Italian. Authentic Italian starters like Melanzane Parmigiana with their own twist. Tirimasu was excellent. We loved the whole experience.
This is a fantastic Italian family run restaurant in la Boca, Buenos Aires. The decor is simple. The food is amazing. Home made pasta that nearly melts in your mouth. The sauces are all delicious. Our favorites are the olives Ascolanos (stuffed green olives ..breaded and fried to perfection). The vegetable raviolis with a simple tomato sauce and the meat raviolis with a fresh tomato sauce that is cooked for a slightly longer time than the Sauce. Actually we have never had anything that wasn’t amazing here. There are few tourists that frequent this amazing restaurant. The staff are top notch. We love this restaurant. There is a second restaurant that they have in Palermo but it is not quite the same but not bad.
The pasta was bland and the Aperol spritz lacked the spirit . Service could be better too, probably we went on a crowded Friday evening, that’s why the person taking the order seemed uninterested.
Came across by accident when walking from Boca to San Telmo with my adult daughters, both vegetarian and gluten free. We enjoyed so much we returned for our farewell' dinner. My suggestion is to have the filled pasta over the dried. Clearly it...is (along with the bread) handmade and of high quality. Service was great but unhurried in that BA style';no one rushes you. Plenty of choices for vegetarians and gluten free. We had many meals over weeks and this was up at the top. Well worth getting a taxi to.
