Went to Espacio Dada around 8pm to kill some time before another activity. They are perfectly located in front of the square in Palermo so they are hard to miss and easy to access.Turns out that not only they had great drinks (ordered a pisco sour, a caipirinha and a beer), they also had a stand up comedy act called "passing time" (exactly what we were tying to do) at 9pm so we bought tickets for it and had a blast. The place is definitely played down. If you were looking for the fanciest place this is not it. Au contraire, Dada has more of an industrial, run down, super informal atmosphere that invites you to cut loose. Character and simple come to mind to describe it. Great service and drinks were not expensive.Go to the second floor and look out the terrace over to the square, nice view. Then turn around and look at the wall art.
We went to Espacio Dada after hunting for some food late in the evening - the cool looking bar and terrace on Plaza Serrano seemed just the ticket. We ordered some food and drinks that were reasonably priced, but then things went downhill. We started getting hassled by an apparent employee (he was either a waiter or just a dude that hangs around the restaurant - hard to tell) who went through his personal history of crack addiction, before offering us a sample. Unfortunately he didn't really take no (or ignoring) as an answer. No harm done, we just spent our (average) dinner with his crazy eyes staring us down. Then the check came.600 pesos for food and drinks was what we were expecting, 200 pesos as a mandatory service charge was not. Apparently getting hassled by a druggy is worth a 33% tip? The guy who brought us the bill was very happy to let his tripping mate assure us that we WOULD be paying the service charge, as everything else was "a real good price". It was like a low level mob stand-over tactic. All in all, this place was a super uncomfortable rip-off.
