Hidden gem
I had the set lunch menu at Laurel and had a great experience. The prix fixe menu is incredibly affordable compared to similar options in Budapest, and it is worth it. The “snack” course was mostly good, though the walnut cake was a bit sour and bland. However, the sauce that accompanied the sturgeon was incredible – I voraciously spooned every last drop into my mouth. The water buffalo with shaved smoked egg yolks was my favorite dish of the meal, and the veal was so tender I could easily pull apart with a fork. The only downside was the dessert, which I found unpalatable. Overall, Laurel is super worth it and offers an excellent dining experience. RACH Recommended Price per person: Ft 20,000+
