Crazy Fox Saloon - Bucyrus
Crazy Fox Saloon
Description
Nestled in Newport, this cozy dive bar is a longtime local haunt known for cheap drinks, arcade and pool tables, permissive BYO food policy and a lively, neighborhood crowd. Late hours and welcoming, homey vibes draw regulars and groups, but experiences vary: service and kitchen reliability can be inconsistent, wait times and cold food have been reported, and a few patrons described uncomfortable staff interactions. Ideal for casual nights out when you favor character over polish.

This bar is a local favorite for residents and has been for years. As you walk by, you’ll find this cozy dive bar just a few steps from the entrance. We decided to stop in for a quick drink because we were in the area and loved the name of the bar. We weren't sure what to expect, but we ended up having a great time. We ordered some simple drinks and played a few games on the small arcade machine. As we were leaving, a large group arrived and immediately started celebrating! They brought their own food, which looked amazing, and it seemed like this was their go-to spot right in their hometown!
I can't even give this place a single star. We came here for my friend's 60th birthday because she loves fairy tales. Upon entering, no one greeted us or provided any direction; we weren't sure if we should go to the bar or sit at a table. We chose to sit in the pool room first, but again, no one said a word to us. Then we moved to the bar area, waiting at the bar for the bartender—who seemed oblivious to our presence. Not once did he acknowledge us with a greeting or even say, "I'll be with you shortly." If we had shown up in dirty shirts, we would have thought there was no way he would serve us a drink. After a few minutes of waiting without any interaction, we decided to leave. As someone who has worked as a bartender, I found his lack of courtesy very rude. I would never return here, not even if you paid me. We even booked our Airbnb near this bar, and I can't express how incredibly disappointed we are with this experience.
It's an okay bar, a bit expensive but you're paying for the atmosphere more than anything, the weaver is a seedy place but it's cheap and the people are mostly nice, management is super helpful.
My first time there and yes it was busy but Micheal Hunnie not only were you a Sass QUEEN but you were just careless and obnoxious. I get you were working by yourself that night but giving free drinks and giving a shitty attitude just doesn't mix. My first experience there will be my last if he's bar tending. I hate feeling uncomfortable like that entering a bar especially when I'm part of the LQBTQ community. Idk if you need dick or Xanax Michael but get it together sweetie. I hate what I do but I don't **** about it or get wasted to pass time. I just fucking do it because ITS PART OF THE JOB, get out the food industry if you're that mad.
