I decided to have dinner at this restaurant by pure chance nearly at the end of a month spent in Bucharest for work, such a shame I did not know about it before. The view is simply amazing and the stuff is friendly. The menu...is various but nothing special to my eyes (and my palate), but great experience otherwise. I was with colleagues from work and we thought we could pay by card but that night the machine was not... View all feedback.
What Adelaida Oancea doesn't like about Silk Panoramic:
It was my second visit to Silk Panoramic after some years and it really seemed to go down hill. Granted we went late (about on a week day), but it was cold inside and the windows pretty dirty (important since the view is...the main selling point). Last time it looked somewhat classy, but now only the view is classy. The food is also average, while not cheap at all. View all feedback.
We have taken a offer for two, but eating was more like for one and a half in terms of quantity. that was only on one plate. the taste was okay, but it would not earn the full price for eating. this is not the level of an expensive sky bar. the reservation was not in the book and we waited 45 minutes until the appetizers arrived.
The view was Ok. Food seems to be acceptable, with one exception, the squid that was very bitter and had a suspicious smell. For it we recieved a cold apology and the promis that will be removed from the bill.
We've been a party of 4 for lunch, starting ~12:30 and afterwards again for lunch with my son. Recommend parking in University Uderground Parking, there are just a few steps till Hotel Z, where the restaurant is placed, at the 9th floor. Food is diversified,...without being very fancy. You can find s good pasta pizza but also duck, a steak or a salad. Each time the restaurant was almost empty, so service was personalized, fast and nice. Everything we ordered was tasty and looked good, don't expect gourmet but you will enjoy. Price was decent, we paid 220 Ron for 4 person (without alcohol). It looks as a great place for Pre Theatre if you go for National Theatre, also the view is very nice, you have University, National Theatre, Coltea Hospital and the boulevards right under you. I recommend it for both lunch and dinner, is a nice place.
Good food but could do with a flavour of Romania added to the menu. Stunning views from all seats while you eat.
Plus: great view of the University Square if you can reserve the right table on the balcony, on the smoking area (can you believe it?? it was in the evening, the lights were on, crowded traffic (professional photos make the place look better...but once you get there it's not that breathtaking) good food, no matter the dishes: we had salads, pasta, anti-pasta, fish, shrimps, steaks, along with lemonades, a great Rose wine (Silk branded), desserts. Minus: there is no entrance: to reach the restaurant you have to enter into reception of Z Boutique hotel and take the elevator up to 9th floor the restaurant occupies 2 levels, with interior stairs, spacious inside buy very crowded outside, on the balconies, where actually everybody wants to stay hoping to enjoy the view (I get the feeling it should have been otherwise: larger balconies and less space inside) we had a table on the last floor (balcony) where was the only smoking area of the restaurant so if you want to enjoy he view you have to support the cigarettes (maybe it would have been more appropriate to completely forbidden the smoking in this restaurant, due to lack of space not enough light, no candles lights on the tables, we used the mobile lantern to read the menu and we barely see each other being for the first time there we asked the waitress for advice regarding the dishes but she said that she didn't know, we have to order and..see it for ourselves... toilette area clean but too narrow the menu had no variety, based only on few (Italian) dishes (true there were good and tasty but..
