This is our family favourite for comfort food. Predictably good Chinese food all the classics. Our favourite is the Peach Shrimp, the Ginger Beef, deep fried wontons stuffed with crab, and Cantonese Chow Mein. Great for either eating in or take out. View all feedback.
What Braeden Powlowski doesn't like about Cody Inn:
I have been dining at this restaurant for over 20 years and have always enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. I have noticed the impact the pandemic has had on the hospitality industry, but I was very disappointed to find out that they are now only offering takeout and no longer provide in-house dining. This is a far cry from the experience I was used to, but if the quality of the food is as good as it was when dining in, it... View all feedback.
On a 2016 visit to Buckhorn, we passed on the Cody Inn in favour of Aloro Pizza and the Ice House. Mistake !The former historic hotel, now a large restaurant, serves a bit of everything Canadian, including fish - not a surprise for a fishing / boating / cottage eatery. However, it is the Chinese food that brings 'em in. In fact, ever diner we saw served ordered from the "full Chinese menu" (as opposed to the eclectic one). As we did.The servings are huge ! The basic combo plates - rice and two selections from a long list - overwhelmed us. A generous serving of chicken fried rice, 6 chicken balls or deep-fried chicken wings, and lemon chicken. No one finished, or even came close. The lemon chicken stood out. At most places, the lemon chicken comes as bite-sized chunks, largely batter. Not here. It was prepared as an entire boneless, skinless chicken breast, lightly battered, and topped with a generous ladle of lemon sauce. Outstanding !The other items sampled - grilled cheese, burger platter - were described as "pretty good", but the oohs and aahs were given to the Chinese orders.Definitely eating there next time we're in Buckhorn.
A must go too... but if going during high season make sure to make a reservation!!! The vegetables are so fresh and delicious!!! Needs some updating but prices are great and the food is plentiful... Can't wait to go back!!!
I've dined at Cody Inn three times, and each time I have felt that it is the best Chinese food I've eaten anywhere. Each dish is made fresh and you can taste the difference.
Best cozy quaint place eat in or out on the patio but love eating in in the porch room . This is an old historic building.
Stopped in for lunch, sat out on the patio that over looked the locks (so pretty)... would be perfect for a small gathering. the wonton soup was excellent, we also ordered the crispy spring rolls (best I've ever had), ordered another batch to go. they're known for their Chinese food however they have a full Canadian menu as well. I'm looking forward to going back. Great value !
