had a large party when I went with my family this past Sunday. waiters were very helpful and accommodating and made everything a breeze. I had the beignets for breakfast with the butter pecan sauce and it was delicious. couldn't go wrong when I ordered my signature lemonade. all in all had an excellent time. and my total for souvenirs in the shop was my old girl scout troop number!! talk about signs ahaha. I found this restaurant to be fairly average. It seems to cater primarily to older adults and families with children. The decor, which features a charming 1900s theme, stands out. What a warm, inviting restaurant! Employees were masked, and so were we. But masks were not mandated. The store, the restaurant and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Danielle was a wonderful waitress! She brought our hot teas and Coke Zero quickly. When she brought our meals, she brought two more tea bags, and 2 to go cups with hot water. Husband didn’t want Coke Zero to go. Niece and I savored and loved our meals chicken and dumplings for her chicken pot pie for me. Husband ALWAYS gets the country fried steak with extra gravy his favorite. It was as delicious as he expected. This was a great place to stop on our way to Phoenix not too busy late at night (7 PM) we did not feel hurried. If you are in the area, and want good service and food, come to this Cracker Barrel!
The food here is consistently excellent. My personal favorite is the Grilled Lemon Pepper Rainbow Trout, served with mashed potatoes and green beans. The chicken pot pie is substantial, featuring a wonderfully flaky crust and the usual chicken and vegetables inside. Their cornbread muffins are the best I've ever had. Overall, it's a fantastic spot for comfort food.
We had a large group, so two servers assisted us. The young man was fantastic and very attentive, while the older lady was just okay. When she forgot part of our order, she only offered us fruit to take home and didn’t address the issue. We hardly saw her afterward, and the young man ended up refilling our drinks and checking on us frequently. The gravy was bland, and my friend couldn’t even finish his meal. However, the ladies in the gift shop were wonderful!
I have a concern about the service from the waitress. I had to ask another waiter for straws, and I didn't receive utensils right away; I had to ask for them multiple times. When I finally got them, I felt somewhat insulted because my guest received a whole box of utensils.
I love Cracker Barrel. Good food great prices and always feels like home to me. I love their store in the front which offers all kinds of good priced merchandise.
