A very nice and cosy atmosphere, on a small traditional regional house, with lots of wine cellar memorabilia, with top service by Mr. Augusto and excellent food by Chef André. A local late harvest white wine as a appetizer and a sparkling white to go along with all the great the food, from starters to the main course... grilled sheep cheese, grilled chouriço (on the table, with a great visual catching flambè stewed bull tail with asparagus, sweet potato and special chef made tomato sauce, cod fish with melted Serra da Estrela cheese and, for desert, a very nice druken pear, with almonds. Chef André was available to chat and and passionately discuss details on his work and ideas for new dishes.
The environment is ok and cozy. You can see to the kitchen in an almost open concept, but if the view is not pleasant. It's messy and looks dirty. Food could to be awesome, but the cook just don't know how to do it: meat was covered with red pepper and fries where burned. We asked for starters, rissóis and croquetes, and also too burned. Looks like they were frozen and had to keep them a lot of time in the fryer. The price is exaggeratedly high for quality. Service was not great also: employees stopped serving and we had to chase them. Often to be found eating in the kitchen. Restaurant has all thats is needed to succeed, but needs a better cook and service. Small important changes are needed. Don't plan to come back soon
The cod bite is nothing special, lots of green broth and little grain Good service. Very expensive, I paid €22 per person!! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €20–25 Recommended dishes: Bacalhau C Queijo da Serra
