I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The service was incredibly friendly, and the brisket was outstanding. It’s a perfect stop for a day trip around the Smokies. The staff was welcoming, and the service was quick and efficient. The brisket was some of the best I’ve had in a long time. If I could give it six stars, I would! It makes me really happy to see places like this thrive in a world filled with chai... View all feedback.
What Michael Arnold doesn't like about -b-que Wagon:
The service was excellent, and the mountain atmosphere was charming. The brisket was flavorful but a bit too tender, falling apart easily. The ribs had their silver skin still on and lacked in flavor. However, I really enjoyed the potato salad and baked beans—they were definitely the highlights of the meal. Considering the local context, it’s likely quite good, though I’m comparing it to authentic barbecue from Texas... View all feedback.
What a hidden gem! BBQ ribs are so wonderfully smoked and fall off the ribs tender! The potato salad is a must for mustard potato salad lovers, the coleslaw was unusually minced, but, oh, so delicious. Baked beans are distinctive, not at all plain! And, oh, don't get me started on so how delectable the rolls taste! The dips (BBQ sauces) are flavored so well. I've eaten BBQ where it is served in every state across America. This is my second most favorite BBQ joint of all!!

The food is good, but it's not the best barbecue I've ever had. The only real downside is its location in Bryson City.

The food is plentiful (but bland) but it's what's not said that will grind your gears. If you order takeout ,they will not offer or even mention that there is no bbq sauce on it..but I'm sure they will sell you some. The other not mentioned event is that you will not find out they are a cash only establishment untill you get to the counter..no signs on the door or on their website..very inconvenient, but for a fee you can use the ATM in their lobby. BTW..the tip you usually would have gotten went for ATM fees..keep hurting your employees for your cheapness.
