What Katie Fox doesn't like about Haywood Smokehouse:
I came here about 6 years ago and had the best brisket! We took our grandparents to ride the GSMR Train so naturally I went back yesterday. Had to get to go plates as we had 2 who were wheelchair bound and it was raining. When we got back to the hotel… Disappointed does not even cover it. On Tuesday to lunch. we had a short waiting time, but it was rewarding. brisket, huh, collar and burning beans were all very good. a lot of bits! the most impressive was our server. I am terrible with names, but her name begins with a m and she becomes a jura school in autumn. she was friendly and pleasant, not only for us, but for the others she was expecting around us. not false friendliness, but real southern things. very impressive with her. much luck to “M” with her study in autumn!
Never disappointed! we had ribs, brisketburger and brisket sandwiches. French pommes were super and chocolate peak pipe, service was also great. when they take the smokey mountain railway, make sure they go there.
This is casual dining, and we haven't had barbecue this good since Memphis. I had the leftovers for lunch today and it reheats well. Highly recommended! We will be back (many times) for sure.
Best service and wonderful food! A sign at the door asked for patience waiting to be seated etc because it was graduation day and they had more guests/orders. But me and my husband had no wait to be seated and probably waited less than 10 minutes for our food. We shared the 3 meat combo platter and everything was SO good! Even though there were lots of other customers our waitress was very quick on refills and very friendly! If you are in the area I would definitely stop by! P.S banana pudding is A+
I’m a self professed bbq snob and even told the waitress this. I smoke my own meat so very picky. I was very impressed. Had the brisket with incredible bark and smoke ring. The ribs were perfectly cooked with a great dry rub. The burnt ends baked beans were fantastic. The only disappointment was the mac and cheese which wasn’t the traditional cheesy mac I’m a fan of. Service by Carrie was amazing!
