Whataburger - Bryan
Whataburger
Description
Whataburger has become a mixed bag for diners, with experiences ranging from delightful to disheartening. Many patrons appreciate the familiar flavors of their favorite meals, like the spicy chicken and signature burgers, often cooked to perfection. However, the attention to detail in orders seems inconsistent, leading to incorrect items and less-than-fresh fries. Service quality fluctuates, with some staff exhibiting professionalism, while others appear overwhelmed. Cleanliness of the establishment gets positive notes, but chaotic experiences, including outside disturbances and inadequate management, diminish the overall dining experience. Diners are encouraged to advocate for better service at this nostalgic fast-food favorite.

The food was satisfactory, though the fries were a bit too salty for my taste. Unfortunately, I've noticed a decline in customer service since they teamed up with the Chicago company; it definitely feels slower now. The young woman at the register could use some customer service training. It's crucial to make eye contact with customers and offer a smile—even while wearing a mask. When handing back change or a receipt, it would be nice if she could take a moment to acknowledge the customer rather than just passing it over without any interaction. Additionally, when serving food, it would be appreciated if they asked whether we needed any condiments or anything else.
I had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. Even though it was late and the place was busy, the person at the drive-thru was exceptionally polite. I initially forgot to upgrade my order to a Whatameal, but when I asked to add it at the end, he stayed calm and courteous throughout the entire process. The woman who handled my payment and brought out my drinks and food was equally polite. Despite the rush, she made it a point to wish everyone a good night as they left.
Wow! There are panhandlers outside who are shouting to get your attention and ask for money. Every time I've visited (and I've been here several times), my orders have been incorrect. I definitely need to find a better area to dine in.
Did you know that it only costs 25 cents to make a burger at Whataburger? Believe it or not, just 25 cents! I learned this from management during my time working there. However, customers end up paying nearly $5 for a burger. When I was employed there, I earned $7.40 an hour. My boss started hiring new staff at $8.10 an hour, and when I brought it up to him, he raised my pay to the same starting rate. This felt a bit unfair, considering I had been with the company for much longer than the newcomers. Instead of focusing on the negatives, I encourage you to reach out to corporate and inquire if Jay is still managing that location. They really need someone with better management skills to help the team work more efficiently and professionally. It seems like the whole company might be facing some challenges.
