When reserving with TheFork discounts you are presented an inflated menu. Surprise, surprise, the net effect is that you spend more or less what is the cost with a non discounted menu! Disgusting
When “PURA” Turns Out to Mean Anything But Pure I walked into PURA with high hopes. The name alone promises freshness, quality, maybe even a little culinary enlightenment. Instead, I got a meal that felt like it had been on a long, emotional journey… through a freezer. I ordered the cod, which arrived looking like it had just been defrosted after a decade of cryogenic sleep. The steamed cauliflower and broccoli were so bland and lifeless that I briefly considered offering them emotional support. For 46 euros, I expected something that at least pretended to have met a seasoning once in its life. And then there was the service. Let’s just say the staff made it abundantly clear that my presence was a mild inconvenience. Warmth and hospitality were nowhere to be found — unless they were also hiding in the freezer with the cod. Even with a 50% discount from The Fork, the experience still felt overpriced. When half off still feels like too much, you know something has gone terribly wrong. Brussels is full of fantastic restaurants. PURA, sadly, is not one I’d recommend — unless you’re conducting a scientific study on how far a restaurant can drift from the promise of its own name.

Mixed feelings about this place. The food is fabulous: fresh, tasty, well presented. European with an Asian twist, a bit original and much better than most of the restaurants in the Schuman area. The wine to the glass that was recommended was very good. However service was extremely slow, there seemed to be only two waiters and the restaurant was full. We had to wait a lot and left without coffee or dessert because it was past 2PM and we had arrived at 12.30. The furniture and decoration is a bit worn down and old. Great potential but needs some investment in modernising the place and adding staff! Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: €30–40
