Our favorite dining experience in Brussels. Karen Torosyan Bozar was a great experience. We decided on the 7 course meal and it was culinary tour de force of flavours and beautiful plating. MENU VICTOR HORTA Sea crab Britany sea crab tomato caper leaf Coucou of Malines marble of coucou de Malines smoked eal artichoke Langoustine langoustine of Guilvinec zucchini flower caviar Caspian Tradition Vegetable vegetable cake sweet smoked peper bouillabaisse sauce Beef Normandie beef Provence zucchini gravy Peach yellow peach basilicum almonds Blueberry blueberry of Vosges Bourbon vanilla verbena Highlight dish 1. Sea crab wonder presentation with colour and flower pedals. Flavours were fresh and tasty 2. Langoustine caviar, langoustine perfect match. 3. Normandie beef wow, amazing beef flavour, cook perfectly. 4. Blueberry so refreshing, perfect end to our meal Highly recommend this 2 star Michelin establishments for a romantic evening. Great food and service.
What I thought was going to be a quick 5 course meal (as depicted on the menu they handed us) ended up being a 2.5 hour 8 course dinner. It was kinda wild to get three fully developed standalone amuse bouche courses, not mentioned on the menu. This dinner at Bozar was a traditional French fine dining meal, with beautifully crafted plates assembled with lots of care, technique, and butter. My favorite dishes, of course, were the lighter items on the menu the steamed radish amuse in chicken broth, and the reimagined black forest which has all the flavors of a black forest cake, but none of the heaviness. MENU RAVENSTEIN Noble Pâté Croûte (duckling of Barbarie, pistache, pickled vegetable) Eggplant (eggplant of Sicily, miso, bottarga) Veal (veal of Corrèze, bouchée à la reine, girolles) Apricot (red apricot of Roussillon, almonds, rosemary) Black forest (Bigarreau cherry, black chocolat, cottage cheese)
Overall a good experience but I do not think the service is adequate for a 2 Michelin star restaurant, we were left in a side room almost forgotten. The food has great quality and you can see the attention to details but the desserts were the stars for us, just amazing. Special thank you to the sommelier for the hospitality.
The art deco dining hall (built by Victor Horta) is reminiscent of a bygone era. Every dish is crafted with precision and respectful of tradition. Overall, Bozar restaurant is a epitome of elegance and class, and a culinary gem in Belgium that should not be missed!
One of the most beautiful series of dishes I have ever had. And they are all super tasty! Three wonderful amuse bouches before the menu starts. Different, freshly baked breads keep appearing (also beautiful and delicious and often accompanied by some tasty spread . Don 't miss the fabulous cheeses (again beautiful and super tasty and with own bread . Lovely plain tableware. Good service. Knowledgeable sommelière. Sometimes too relaxed pacing (big menu takes 3 1/2hrs . Lovely punchy flavours (but once or twice the sauce is a little overwhelming . Music fortunately did not start until later. (Only small niggle: a whiff of toilet duck comes past periodically. A beautiful experience for eyes and mouth that is highly recommended.
