Description

Okami Brunswick serves generous, flavorful Japanese all-you-can-eat fare that punches above its price: standout sushi, karaage, katsu, fresh tempura, and must-try taiyaki and sesame ice cream. Portions and variety suit families and large groups, especially off-peak; dine-in is recommended for best freshness. Drawbacks include slow, inconsistent service, missing items and crowding at peak times, and dated decor. Friendly staff often remedy problems, but book early or order larger batches to minimize waits.

The food was incredible, but the service left much to be desired. We placed two orders; for the first, we received only a few items and waited over an hour for the rest. Then, at 6:23, we placed our second order and waited another hour without receiving anything. Fortunately, Shayla (I hope I spelled her name right) came to our rescue. She was fantastic at resolving our issues—very kind and helpful—and she ensured we got our food right away. If you’re reading this, thank you!

We went to Okami Brunswick On a Friday night for dinner. I understand that it was very busy but it took them so long to serve us. Every time we had to follow them up. Then many of the dishes didn’t come. They had no record of what was served. Food was delicious but we had to leave hungry as we couldn’t wait for the food anymore.

Book for an occasion. Came sharp 7.45pm. Sat down, still waiting for menu. Crowded. Overall, the food was good. How ever the gyoza was not what I expected. The miso, teriyaki steaks, ya kinky beef was good. Good place to chill too. Overall, good value and pretty good food

Edit: Ordered a Bento Box for dinner via delivery. Tasty but would recommend opting for an eat in option for the best level of freshness and warmth for this dish. Nice dining experience at Okami this past weekend. Many varied options and at a reasonable all you can eat price of $36.80. We weren't rushed when we came for an early dinner at 5pm on Saturday. Albeit the crowd was predominately large groups and families at this time which held up our incremental orders (waiting perhaps 20-30mins between orders). I would probably recommend coming at the non-nanna dinner timeslot in that case! Or recommend ordering a larger volume of dishes upfront to minimise waiting between orders. All the food was good and well prepared. Particularly liked the karaage chicken, katsu chicken, and all the beef dishes. Decor could use with a bit of an update, so don't expect anything too fancy. Nice for a casual meal. Will come back again!

Really great first time at an Okami restaurant. Great food, fast service and amazing flavours! Cooked prawns and steak dishes were average, but I would focus on the Japanese staples, like sushi, chicken dishes and definitely their Green Tea Taiyaki! Don't forget to ask for their chilli sauce on the side it's not on the menu, but it's amazing! Forgot a couple of small things on our order, as well as water (even after asking) and it's a bit hard to get anyone's attention (others struggled a bit too).
