Lovely memories of my childhood! This family business has been a foundation for my life since childhood. A cut above the rest in the quality of ingredients and passion for food. Pizza is usually my way to, but I soften when something new comes. View all feedback.

YESSENIA, thank you SO much for giving us awesome customer service! You definitely made us feel at home! Thank you for recommending those pastas, they were delicious!! You are a phenomenal waitress, thank you again! God bless you!!
Gio’s is a Brownsville institution. It has been here for over 40 years and has been run by the same family since the beginning. Don’t go here expecting a fancy Italian restaurant. This is an old-school, cozy Italian joint. They treat everybody like family. The food is fantastic. The prices are moderate and fair considering the quality of the food. I love their thin crust style of pizza. Also, their bread, salad and calzones are amazing as well. If you love local spots, you will love this place. Just remember it’s an family run business. it’s not a chain style commercial type of environment with a generic atmosphere. So that means it’s a great spot in my kind of place. If you are new to Brownsville, just passing through it or have lived here your whole life you will really enjoy Gio’s!
The place was definitely an experience, it has a home cooked environment, the food was excellent and tasty, however a bit pricey. I would definitely recommend for the experience! Great service by the way!
I used to come here when I was small and from what I remember it was an experience. They used to throw the pizza dough in the air and made it super fun for people of any age. Unfortunately something changed and regular drinks are over priced and food is ok at best. A hill country fare water is more expensive than a soda like?? We went for my birthday and upon entering I was told that there is a fee for outside cakes and if I didn't want to pay that I would have to provide my own knife, plates and forks. The WORST PART was that being the biggest party there on New Year's Eve we were told to be quiet because profanity was being used and it was too loud. I didn't know I was going to dinner at church and we weren't even being loud but I guess there were only two other tables that were higher priority. Our waitress must've been new because she couldn't remember any of our orders so she would call out every drink and order as it came. I won't waste my time here again.
Enjoyed myself with family and fiends. The service was great and so was the food.Food: 5/5
