I can’t say enough about how magical this place is. I’m a very picky hotel patron and I absolutely loved it here. It’s very clean but still quaint and charming. We loved swimming in the ocean, sitting on the porch, eating at restaurants nearby. 10/10 would recommend. View all feedback.
What G Becker doesn't like about Oakland House Seaside Inn And Cottages:
Charming old country house in the middle of nowhere which unfortunately doesn’t live up to its promises or justify the price. We’ve spent 2 nights there during our Indian summer tour in October. While there was the first frost outside, it was freezing cold (temp was is the 50ies) in the entire house with no heating at all besides a tiny radiator. You even didn’t want to take a shower. The house itself being historic is... View all feedback.
Wonderful all around!Excellent staff, clean fresh property, extraordinary Chef Josh. Make sure to catch the music on the patio.

This place is magical. The setting is superb and so tranquil, the private beach is lovely, and it's very easy to explore some of the most beautiful parts of Maine nearby (Deer Isle, Blue Hill hikes, Acadia is only an hour away even), and the inn is very comfortable and cosy. I will be back. A bit of a shame they weren't serving any food for any meals which we weren't prepared for but otherwise a wonderful stay.
Acorn House Better than advertised. Beds comfortable; ghost on 3rd floor made its presence every night. Very fun. Loved everything about the old Maine culture...being from the Midwest, its just as ordered. Grandson had a great time catching hermit crabs in the tidal pools. I loved seeing a milk snake around the house...terrific mouser ' and valuable Maine species. Hope to return. Thanks for everything.
We stayed 4 nites in a cottage: mid-20th-century vintage, beautifully maintained, clean, and comfortably furnished. Lovely view of the bay. Had lobster dinner one nite in the main house dining room with blueberry pie for dessert (so very Maine)—perfectly prepared and reasonably priced. Frendly and helpful staff. We look forward to going back some day.
