Xcellent Soul Food Corp. - Brooklyn

My husband went to get me oxtail from the Jamaican spot I like. They did not have anymore. A friend took him to this soul food spot on Ralph Ave. He ordered oxtails, rice& beans, cornbread and candy yams. The oxtails are cut in big pieces, they give you really a lot. I was skeptical to eat them because they give you so many. I'm like this can't really be oxtail what kind of meat is this. The price of oxtail is very high most restaurants will not give you anything close to the portion of meat. Once I taste the oxtail. They are not season good at all. (Tasteless) They are very tough as if they are not fully cooked. I had to season the meat and finish cooking them. The yams were good. The rice did not have enough seasoning. Will never eat from them again!???????

Literally disgusting food. My boyfriend and I tried to eat it not to waste our money but we couldn’t! Mac cheese didn’t have any cheese. Collard greens had a grilled taste to them which I’ve never experienced before, the Turkey wings were under seasoned. What makes it worse is the customer service SUCKS! Real bad! We payed for bbq wings and then they said they didn’t have it while making the plates so I had to settle for teriyaki. When I asked for Turkey wings instead they insisted that I pay the upcharge when it wasn’t my fault they sold me something they didn’t have to begin with. They didn’t even try to compensate with a free drink or anything. I had to continuously ask for compensation until he said he’ll throw in some free cornbread. The cornbread was dry and hard. NEVER AGAIN!

This place is mid at best. Food has no flavor and was just boring. I was excited for cornbread it's been a while since I had some. Took 2 bites and it went in the trash. I seasoned and recorded most of what I got I will personally never order here again. Maybe because ot was a delivery uber order and they didn't care. But my entire top of my mac&cheese slid off as 1 thin solid piece of cheese. 3/10

Oxtails tenders and juicy. Collard greens seasoned well and cabbage good.Great portion size.

Mac n cheese 0/5 tasted like someone boiled the noodles in lemon scented soap. Cheese is still fully visible with nothing melted in between...absolutely terrible!Oxtails: 2/5 sort of tough, lots of fat, ALMOST no flavor, just salt. I did get a good portion though. Wouldn't recommend at all considering that the price did not match the quality of food . The reviews are misleading.Yams: 3/5 well prepared...nice glazeLemonade: 2/5 I did not ask for Sprite infused lemonade...and it is VERY SWEET. Not good at all.Overall: Would not eat here again at all. It's definitely not worth it
