Wild Ginger - Brooklyn
Wild Ginger
Description
In the vibrant culinary landscape of Brooklyn, this restaurant serves up a mixed bag of vegan delights and disappointments. While dishes like the orange seitan and spinach shumai earn rave reviews for their flavor and freshness, others, such as the General Tso's soy protein and black pepper seitan, fall short, described as unappetizing or overly salty. The ambiance is generally calming, but inconsistent service and operational hours add to the unpredictability. Still, many diners leave with fond memories of unique offerings like sweet potato chicken rolls and refreshing salads, marking it as a spot worth exploring for those craving vegan fare.

Used to love coming here when we lived closer. Tonight, we had made our way to another place that Google said was open until 2am, but the doors were closed. We called Wild Ginger since it was 20 mins before closing, and we work in food service so we know that even if the kitchen is open, it’s usually a pain to get a last minute order. We were in a bind and really hungry after an event before a long drive home, and we thank them so much for being so kind and letting us place the late order on a Saturday no less. The food was as amazing as we remembered and we can’t thank you all enough. Can’t wait to revisit. What an terrible food experience. Just not good. Vegan in NYC is supposed to be an incredible experience and this failed in many fronts. Poor service, bland food, watery…yes water and mushy spring rolls. Boring soup. Just go find somewhere else to go.We didn’t even finish our food.
I was in this restaurant 2 summers ago and loved, loved, loved it!The atmosphere and the place were very pleasant, the staff friendly, and the food great. All the dishes me and my friends ordered were delicious, came in good portions and were beautifully presented -they were even decorated with flowers!! I especially enjoyed the lytchee sorbet I had for dessert, it had just the natural lytchee flavor and didn't have too much sugar, it was just perfect :
