Was Tanya G at The Sampler Bushwick a mag?
This has become one of my local hangs. They usually have some type of live music and/or performance going on starting on Thursday nights into the weekend. There is a nice outdoor area where you can smoke freely. The food here is also pretty sick! Yuca fries are A1. The best thing about this place though is that its owned by a local Bushwick head. They always have craft beers in the fridge you can pick from but they a... View all feedback.
What Shane W dislikes about The Sampler Bushwick:
Used to love this place, now I avoid it because why bother. When it opened, they had 10+ rotating taps and two refrigerators full of cans. Plus provocative works from local artists and nostalgic music. The pandemic hit them hard. The fridges are gone and the taps have dried up. They have a few IPAs on draught, but nothing to get excited about. No one ever hangs out inside anymore and the vibe is dead. The manager rea... View all feedback.
Jessica is an outstanding bartender, and I really enjoy her service. Overall, I would rate it 4 out of 5.
The restaurant doesn't share its menu on Untappd, BeerMenus, or anywhere online, which is quite unusual. However, I did get a 10oz pour of Finback's Barrel-Aged Banana Drip for $8, which was definitely a great deal!
The service and drinks are excellent, and they now offer amazing food on Tuesdays. The ambiance is fantastic; it truly feels like you're in a bar gallery.
For dinner, my friend ordered the Chimi Burger, while I chose the El Dominicano, which was absolutely delicious and came with Pernil and sausage. The Chimi Burger was served on two tostones instead of traditional buns. Both dishes were fresh, hot, and full of flavor! For drinks, we tried the Harlem Sugarhill Blonde Ale and the Artisanal Fulton Amber Ale. The Harlem Sugarhill paired perfectly with our meal, while the Artisanal Ale had a sweet, delightful flavor. I also sampled the Gunhill Gose, a sour beer with a surprising hint of peanut butter and jelly—it was oddly enjoyable! The bartenders were attentive and eager to answer all our questions. I would definitely return to explore the different taps and dishes!
