The food was surprisingly excellent. The apple sauce with a touch of honey makes for a very creative and delicious dipping sauce. The kitchen stays open late and provides top-notch quality even at 1 AM! View all feedback.
What User dislikes about The Commodore:
Super rude bartenders, especially the men working there. They won't even look at you across the bar unless you're a pretty white girl. I could tell from who they were selectively grabbing orders from. 2 stars just for the decent late night food. View all feedback.
The fried chicken lives up to all the hype – it’s incredibly delicious. The cheeseburger, hot chicken sandwich, and nachos are all outstanding as well. In fact, it’s the best burger in town! The atmosphere is relaxed and easygoing, and they offer a great selection of affordable beers. I can't wait to return!
We came here on a Sunday night around peak dinner time and were able to get a table. It’s self seating and you’ll have to order at the bar but service is quick and the food is even better. The fried chicken plate is a gem. Definitely some of the best fried chicken you can get in NYC. The last time we had it was almost a half a decade ago and it was still as amazing as the first time. Perfectly fried and all meat, barely any bone which was surprising and highly appreciated. The tuna melt was also fantastic, mixed with both red and white onion. The kale Caesar was slightly on the salty side but made a refreshing break between the fried chicken. Fries are fries, portion was huge. We spent about $70 dollars including tip for everything. Great place with even greater food! Would recommend.
