Stumpy's Spot - Brooklyn
Stumpy's Spot
Description
In a recent exploration of a local Jamaican restaurant, opinions among diners varied widely. While some patrons praised the Saltfish and Callaloo breakfast, noting its deliciousness and perfectly executed Cornmeal Porridge, others expressed deep disappointment. Detractors criticized the BBQ chicken for its meager portions and lack of flavor, while the Stew Chicken and Curry dishes received negative feedback for being under-seasoned and poorly prepared. Despite the genuine praise for a couple of breakfast items, the overall sentiment suggests that the restaurant has room for improvement in delivering quality, flavorful meals to its patrons.

Not happy at all! I ordered BBQ chicken this morning and I just received it. I ordered from work, it's a Hospital with workers! For $55 for a small pan it's disgusting! I didn't ask for BBQ stew chicken, also it's like 20 little pieces of chicken and it'sfull of BBQ sauce! I will never order from your establishment, it's a not worth it ! Shame on you!
I really don't want to give it any stars. I ordered ackee and saltfish and cornmeal porridge. The porridge was ok. But the Ackee and saltfish was horrible. Couldn't eat it. Had to throw it out. $20 wasted. Never ever again...
So Today I ordered from Stumpy's Spot. My usual go to is curry goat but I wanted to splurge a little so I got the oxtail with rice and peas. I am so appalled and when I say the food literally came with NO GRAVY. There was absolutely no gravy on the oxtails and absolutely no gravy on the rice. Now are you telling me as a infamous CARIBBEAN or Jamaican restaurant you're making oxtail without gravy. I felt sick eating the food because I could see all the fat pieces on the oxtail because it wasn't in gravy. You guys really need to step it up because that was the worst Caribbean food experience I have ever encountered and at this point I'm not ordering fromthere ever again.
I gave it four stars cause the food has improved greatly. I hope they keep it up
