What Anonym dislikes about Sofia:
I have been ordering from this restaurant for nine years, and tonight, an employee refused to accept my $20 bill, claiming it was fake. She provided no further explanation, which was quite frustrating. View all feedback.

The woman who answers the phone, who I believe is the owner or manager, is by far the rudest person I’ve encountered in food service. I used to order from Sofia regularly and, despite her unpleasant attitude, I enjoyed the food. However, I reached my limit when she hung up on me because she got impatient and told me to call back once I stopped being indecisive. It’s truly a shame because the food is actually quite good. That woman needs to learn basic social skills and manners, or someone else should handle the phone. I’ve stopped ordering from here to avoid dealing with such rudeness, no matter how good the food is.
I used to really enjoy this place, but the price of the veggie taco has gone up from $3 to $5, and they used to serve two tortillas per taco—now it’s just one. It’s disappointing. There are plenty of great taco options nearby, so I’d recommend skipping Sofia’s.
The menu at Sofia was definitely an acquired taste. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish any of the dishes and ended up throwing everything away. My taste buds felt completely deceived. I even tried adding hot sauce to make it more palatable, but it didn’t help at all.

I kept having to spit out pieces of beef over and over because it had too much hard gristle to actually chew through it (this was with their steak nachos and steak burrito). Flavor-wise, things were just super bland (the meat, the rice, etc). This might have been helped with the salsa, except they gave only one container for both food items (aka not enough salsa to actually put a little on everything). The size of the nachos was almost decent-ish for the price, but that doesn't matter when neither dish tasted great to begin with.Definitely not ordering from here again.
I tried to call, they just left me waiting for almost 15 minutes and then I called and they just hung up on me, I don't even know why because I honestly don't know why they do that very badly on the part of that place?
One of the WORST places in Bushwick. Whenever we order delivery, things from our order are missing. We always call and when they answer and complain they hang up on us. Then they stop answering the call. It's not okay for people to be so STRONG and not be able to do anything. I DO NOT recommend this place at all!
They serve the best corn tortillas for their tacos. I've tried the chicken, steak, and chorizo tacos. The chicken and chorizo are both excellent, while the steak is just okay. The green salsa is really flavorful. It's lovely to sit outside on a relaxed sunny afternoon, enjoy a few tacos and a Jarritos, and then carry on with my day.

I had lunch at Sofia today and tried the huevos rancheros with rice and beans, accompanied by a refreshing Horchata. It was fantastic! I also had the chance to meet Sofia herself, and I really appreciated the authentic atmosphere of the place. Their handmade tortillas add a special touch. The restaurant is quite small and feels more like a takeout spot unless you choose to dine outside. I’ll definitely be returning!
I found myself constantly having to spit out pieces of beef due to the tough gristle that made it nearly impossible to chew, whether in their steak nachos or steak burrito. In terms of flavor, everything was quite bland—the meat, the rice, and everything else. A little salsa could have helped improve the taste, but they only provided one small container to share between the two dishes, which was definitely not enough. While the portion size of the nachos was somewhat reasonable for the price, it hardly matters when neither dish was enjoyable to eat. I won’t be ordering from here again.
I grew up in this area, so I've been coming here since they opened. However, I don't remember nachos ever costing nearly $25. You can find nachos at many places for around $12 to $14. I'm not really a fan of this restaurant.

I just had the best nachos of my life, no joke. Update: I also tried the tacos I ordered last night, but I couldn't make it. They are just as amazing. Got it...
