Finally had the chance to visit this place over the weekend. I was surprised on how beautiful this establishment is, Definitely has the feel and looks of the mother land. The dine in and outside area was fairly comfortable. People walking outside right next to you. But yet again is NYC..The young lady at the register was very sweet and patient and took care of us very well. The food was very good and tasty I got the... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Rico Chimi:
I would highly recommend this place when the food is made to order, but I wouldn't recommend stopping by for a quick empanada or fried snack multiple times. Several times the items were old and either tasted like freezer burn or were fermented. Additionally, ALL THE EMPLOYEES, including the woman with blonde hair who has been there since the beginning, are ALWAYS DRUNK. If an employee takes your order wrong and you t... View all feedback.
Traditional Dominican Chimichurri burger lends its name to this small chain of just several locations in NYC. Sandwiches (chimis) are so rich flavor that they call themselves “Rico Chimi”. Obvious.Place on Myrtle Ave is surprisingly much better looking inside that outside. Its bright, plenty of air, lots of wood panels. Feels like family place to me.There are 7 tables inside with some outdoor seating. Though nearby subway makes so much noise that seating outside is only for hearing challenged people.Menu is varied lots of drinks including natural juices, lots of Dominican and Spanish influenced dishes such as quesadillas, patacones, fritura , picao, emoanadas, monfongos, yaroas, burritos and even gyros!Every dish comes in variety of options, I counted about 15 variants only for fritura.I chose myself traditional chicken chimi and I wasn’t disappointed. Pieces of chicken, lots of vegetables (always a good idea) and juicy cabbage. I really enjoyed. And its comes in a size enough to satisfy a hungry man.So don’t skip this place over. Come and enjoy.
The food was good. Just take cash if not you I’ll be paying an extra 3% fee for paying with your debit or credit. The cashier did not inform me about this extra fee at the moment I paid for the order.
Lunch dine in review: Sadly this place did not impress. The food was bland and the service was so-so. The tables were messy/dirty as well.Food: 3/5
Nothing Rico about this grease paradise the guy in the back are so unprofessional and rude , I pay for a chicharon de pollo and the girl gave me 15 minutes after the 15 when i asked for the order the girl asked the idiot in the back what happened to my fritura and decided to give it to another customer . Food tasted bad and theres a negative environment, I recommend you go somewhere else.
