Description

Setagaya is a bustling ramen haven that captivates patrons with its cozy atmosphere and friendly service. While the popular ramen dishes, like the spicy tsukemen, shine with well-flavored broths and generous portions, opinions on the vegan options vary. The appetizers, including edamame and gyoza, earn rave reviews for their taste and value, while unique drinks add a refreshing twist. Some diners appreciate the reasonable prices alongside the satisfying meals, though a few critique the ramen's temperature and flavors as slightly lacking. Despite mixed feedback, Setagaya remains a beloved spot for its vibrant energy and diverse menu offerings.

I tried the vegan shoyumen at this restaurant and I wasn't a fan. It was mainly just broth and noodles with some seared veggies on top, not the traditional ramen I was expecting. However, I did try some of the miso ramen and the all star ramen that my friends ordered, which were both excellent. I will definitely come back but will opt for a different vegetarian ramen next time. The seared edamame and veggie gyoza appetizers were also good. They have a nice happy hour with $5 beers and cheap wine.

This is my favorite ramen spot! The Black Garlic Ramen is the best I've ever had in NYC. I highly recommend it!

Cozy and intimate ramen shop with smooth and quick service. Ramen was good, just slightly above average. Felt like it wasn’t as hot as I woulda wanted and the flavor could have just been slightly stronger. For the price I felt it was actually very fair and I’m happy they didn’t price their ramen crazy expensive. The gyoza and tuna poke were really delicious and were a great way to start the meal.

Their Tsukemen is not really tsukemen. The broth was much too thin and didn’t have the depth of flavor you’d want. Really disappointing. The tako wasabi was delicious but should come with seaweed, rather than an add-on. Still a value order! The karaage was very tasty; not crispy but very good, and the side salad is great. Good ramen. Love the broth and the texture of the noodles. The service was also great, the ladies were so friendly to our baby. Nice experience dining in. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
