We had fantastic appetizers and main courses at this restaurant. We highly recommend trying the red sangria and finishing off your meal with the flan. The service was excellent! View all feedback.
What WalterP doesn't like about Pilar Cuban Eatery:
I had visited this restaurant before, but this time, all four of us felt that the food portions were minimal and the prices were high. The appetizer sizes were extremely small and it took a while for us to receive the bill. Despite this, I still enjoy this restaurant and plan to return. Hopefully, they will improve portion sizes in the future. View all feedback.
On December 3, 2023, I tried to visit this restaurant for the first time in the hopes of trying their Cuban bread. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find a small bakery nearby that was still open. I was able to enjoy delicious tostadas, empanadas, pastelitos, coffee, and more. While it's unfortunate that the restaurant had to scale back, my cafe con leche and buttered tostada were still excellent! I highly recommend supporting this bakery.
The food is always delicious every time I dine at this restaurant.
The food at this restaurant is just okay, but the drinks really stand out. I was a little let down by the food, which seemed premade and not as fresh as I expected from reading other reviews. I also thought the prices were a bit steep considering the restaurant's location.
Had the ham croquetas, a chicken empanada, a patacon con camarónes and a Hemingway. The croquetas were perfectly crisp on the outside, soft yet not runny on the inside. Hemingway was spot on. Chicken empanada was ok, but flavorful. I'd probably skip that next time.
One of the best salads I’ve had. Went for dinner with a friend who had been there a few times and enjoyed several dishes on the menu. I got the salad with chicken and it was a 12/10. Pickled cabbage and onions, avocado, mixed greens, a good portion of protein, and a delicious vinaigrette. Even the broad beans were flavorful. I’m a huge fan of savory foods with an acidic kick, and love a healthy portion of protein and fiber. I’m also dairy-free. This checked every boxed and the flavors were so good I would have ordered another to go, but they were closed. The way the salad was plated was also gorgeous and the service was warm and generous. Couldn’t ask for more.
