When I arrived, the attendant at the front told me I would have to wait about 15 minutes, despite there being three empty booths available. I was also offered a seat at the counter. Unfortunately, there was no greeting or smile from him. I waited patiently, but after 12 minutes, a couple came in and were seated immediately. I asked the same attendant, who had short black hair, for clarification: "So I have to wait for a single table to open up (which did happen 28 minutes after my arrival) even though there are three booths available? Is it true that anyone arriving after me as a group of two or more gets seated?" He replied that it was only for larger parties. I asked where this policy was posted, but he had no answer. It was an embarrassing situation. Just as I was about to start writing my review, he finally offered me a booth at the end. Once seated, the service was excellent. I noticed that water and coffee were being refilled for the other tables, but I hadn’t received any. I had to ask the same person I’d spoken to earlier, who promptly brought it to me with a smile and apologized for the coffee machine having issues, offering me a fresh cup. I ordered the avocado toast, which was very good—tasty and well-prepared. I tipped Miranda generously because she was so sweet and attentive. In my opinion, the food is good and the menu is great, though somewhat pricey. Compared to the Commons at 95th Street, this place needs friendlier staff. At the Commons, they inform you of the table policies, accommodate you well, and take your number to notify you when your table is ready. I’ll give this restaurant another chance.
This was my first visit with my girlfriend, and we really enjoyed it. The diner is a nice size—not too big, not too small. Our food was served quickly, and the total for three of us was $65, which isn’t bad at all. The pancakes were delicious, and the omelette with American cheese was a hit.
This is hands down the best breakfast spot in New York, no question about it. It's a family-run establishment with some of the nicest people you could ever meet, and the food is simply outstanding. The spicy eggs benedict is fantastic, along with everything else on the menu. The orange juice is freshly squeezed when you order it. Harace and Jane, the original owners, have made this place a beloved institution for over 30 years, and it's a must-try. Thank you, Harace and Jane, for your warmth, hospitality, and incredible food. Food in Austin just can't compete!
The huevos rancheros on their brunch menu is SO GOOD. The staff was super friendly even when they seemed pretty busy. Their orange juice is pretty fresh too, they look like they make it in house. I am definitely coming back here, the price of food isworth the quality.
Pegasus is excellent! I have family that travel from NJ and insist on stopping by for the French toast, Blueberry pancakes and chicken tenders with waffles. Always a treat! The wait staff is friendly and quick. 12 years visiting and counting. Pegasus getspacked, 15-35 minute wait time, no reservations, Cash Only! Worth the wait. ????
