A popular restaurant with a varied mix of reviews. Some patrons have complained about poor service and menu changes, leading to a disappointing experience. Others have praised the friendly staff, delicious food, and unique dishes like the glass duck. The pricing is reasonable for the portion sizes, with one guest mentioning that the roast pork was particularly generous. Despite some inconsistency in experiences, many customers are willing to return for the tasty Chinese cuisine.

Would like to leave a review but the two times we went they told us they are closed (3-4 hours before the closing time online) while they had diners in the restaurant. If they close at 730-8 they should say. Not sure if they are closed or just don’t want to serve us. My friend really wanted to try it but not worth the uncertainty.

While this spot may not look like much from the outside it’s a solid choice for great food.We decided to explore the Sunset Park area, and while browsing reviews, menus and windows, we settled on Lucky eight. To be 100% honest there were at least three groups of women that went in before us, and to me that was an indication that the food must be good as they might traditionally be the ones preparing food in their homes, and if they want to eat here, so do I .The dining room is simple with a tank of lobsters and fish when you walk in, not all looking that spry but who would. We ordered slightly blindly off the lunch special menu, which was a great value. The egg drop soup was delicious and all of the other portions were quite large. Sweet-and-sour chicken scored, high marks, and there was some “boiled chicken” that came with a delicious ginger garlic sauce on the side that I can highly recommend. We always order snow pea leaves as they are often super fresh and delicious and that is exactly what we received here at Lucky eight. Another great choice if you want to get your greens in.I had wanted to order roasted pork ribs, but ended up with sweet-and-sour pork, which was good, but was heavy on the pineapple, I should be expected, my bad.The tea was on the table instantly and dark and delicious. The service was jovial and fun and efficient. If you were in the area and looking for a quick and easy lunch this is a great option.

Overall 5 stars. Only thing and this is actually a good thing. There was only 1 customer finishing their meal as we were seated . I've found this could indicate a really good thing (few if any tourists go to this joint) or a not-so-good thing (poor food and/or service) my 3 stars for ambience; i just would have loved to see more people here (locals) pictures are of my entré (bone inpork rib tips w/rice) my friend ordered the roasted pork over rice. We also shared a bowl of wonton soup.

We went really late, near closing time. There was no one around by the time we finish our food. We didn't know they close a bit earlier due to covid but they did not rush us out the door. The food was priced fair, and it was delicious. Will come back heresoon. Recommended. They accept card also but I think cash is still king

Very good Chinese food. We visited for lunch and it was not crowded. We had an inexpensive and very filling lunch. The service was very friendly and attentive. Friends of ours recommend the place and I can see why. Will be back when I am in theneighborhood again
