Reviews summary
Nestled in the heart of Brooklyn, this Thai restaurant elicits mixed feelings among diners. While some rave about its warm atmosphere, extensive menu, and fresh flavors, others recount unfortunate encounters with unprofessional service and unsatisfactory food quality. Patrons have enjoyed standout dishes like Tom Yum soup and crab Rangoon, whereas others have faced cold meals or bland offerings. Although the attentive staff has garnered praise, inconsistent service and cleanliness issues in the restrooms have raised concerns. Overall, while the restaurant harbors potential, it may require a bit of consistency to win over all its guests.

Green curry with beef has good hint of spice. However, we only received 2 rice with 3 green curries when we ordered to go. Calamari portion was small and wasn’t too appetizing because it was soggy. Maybe it would’ve tasted better if we would’ve eaten it there.
Charming restaurant with delicious food close to the Brooklyn Promenade. I highly recommend it if you're in the area or taking a stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge.
The food was mediocre and the prices were outrageous, reflecting the overall inflation in the area. However, the beef satay was quite good.
What a place for thai! Nice lighting inside that makes you feel cozy in an instant. Staff is kind and at your table often, but not in a stuffy way. The food menu is immense and you can always be assured you will get something tasty. I am usually a person to stick the one thing I know is good but the quality of the food here has made it easy to try out lots of options on the menu, especially friendly for vegetarians/pescatarians. Never too oily and tastes fresh and splendid. You can’t get better thai in Brooklyn Heights!

Amazing pick-up catering! I ordered a bunch of trays for a work event and was so happy with their timing, packaging, and thoughtfulness. Very vegan friendly. Will definitely order again from Lantern if another group event comes up.
The Three Flavor Fish Kee Mao Noodle was absolutely delicious! The Green Curry was also quite tasty, although it wasn't spicy. The service was excellent as well!
Love this place. Good Food, friendly staff, cute atmosphere. Street parking is a little hard to get. My mom and I always come here. The calamari is always good! Mom had the shrimp pad thai and I had the beef pad see ew. As always, the food was really good. Our little home away from home.
The service was awful. They just served the food on the table with no utensils, no napkins-anything! When we asked for those someone just reluctantly gave us those. The whole time we were eating no one checked on us or bothered to take away the finished plates. Food is below average.
Stopped by for a quick solo dinner. Food was good! For the price of $15 for a main its A+. I had the ginger dish with tofu. Its vegan friendly due to tofu/vegetable dishes but no mock duck/vegan meats. Not a big deal. I liked the atmosphere inside. It was pretty busy but felt very mellow. They have a cute front patio option as well!

We had a delightful dining experience at Lantern, enjoying their delicious dishes in a pleasant atmosphere. On a Thursday evening, we arrived without a reservation and were seated immediately. The starters were generously portioned, so one each was more than sufficient. The main courses were also sizable and flavorful—so much so that we couldn't finish them. We tried both the hot and cold sake, though we found that the hot sake doesn’t retain its warmth for long. Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our visit.
This Thai restaurant is quite decent. I decided to stop by on a whim and was seated right away. I ordered the chicken satay and soup, while my boyfriend had a lunch special with eggplant and tofu served with rice. I appreciated that they include a complimentary appetizer with lunch specials, though I think this offer is only available Monday to Friday. Overall, the food was good, although my soup could have used a bit more salt and flavor. The chicken satay was excellent. My boyfriend mentioned that his dish was a bit oily, but it still tasted good. The service was attentive, and the staff were very friendly. I'm not sure if I would come back, as I might want to explore other options.
I've ordered from this restaurant a few times and also dined in once. I must say, the customer service is decent, though they could benefit from being a bit more patient when taking orders. Regardless, I will definitely be a regular patron! The food is quite tasty and low in sodium; some might argue it lacks a bit of flavor. Personally, I think the meat is seasoned just right, but it would be nice if they offered soy sauce, chili, or something similar, as the rice dish can be a little dry. Overall, I would recommend it; the chef's special is the best dish, in my opinion. The fried rice, however, isn’t their strong point.
Came in here after a really long time and the food is absolutely delicious just like I remember. Highly recommend Kee Mao and Basil Fried Rice. Don't miss the Thai iced coffee here!
Very good surprise to see the lunch menu at $12 with a selection of starters and and a variety of dishes. I took the spring rolls (not the most delicious I had but crispy and good) and the green curry with shrimps that I really enjoyed from start to finish. For drink I had a litchee flavored Thai tea that was excellent. So good that I took a second one to go! I sat on the patio that had great shade (on a very hot day it was very much appreciated). I would definitely come back.

Oh, the drunk noodles had just the right amount of heat—excellent and delicious! I had them for lunch, and they came with spring rolls that were wonderfully crispy and tasty. The presentation was beautiful, but I was a bit disappointed with the Mandarin mosaic. It tasted like orange juice, not mandarin, and there's definitely a difference between the two flavors.
We arrived at 8 o'clock on Sunday with a group of five and were seated right away. Menus, water, and cutlery were provided just a minute later, and the waiter was highly attentive to our needs. The spring rolls and crab rangoon were absolutely delicious! I had the yellow curry and can't wait to try the red and green versions next time. The bar service was fast, the food was hot, and the drinks were just as great as the meals. We'll definitely be back soon!
Quite decent Thai place. he went in on a pfeife and sat immediately. I ate chicken satay and suppe. my friend had a kind of auberginen and tofu with rice lunch special. I think they'll give a free starter at lunchtime. I think it's just m f. either that was eating pretty good. my suppe could have used a little more salt and taste. that was great. My friend said his meal was oily. but still it tastes good. service was good. the staff was super nice. not sure if I was back tho. I'd probably try something else.
Great 12 lunch special spring rolls were cool shrimp and chicken dumplings were cool bar is extensive lunch hour was packed I didn't like the massaman at first, but it tasted better with the spicy fish oil basil fried rice was cool shrimp was alright food took a hot second to come out
Overall a good experience because the food was great. We made a reservation which due to walk ins we ended having to wait longer then we wanted. However, the staff acknowledged it and made up for it. The drinks and food were great. Short walk to the Brooklyn promenade so that was a nice activity after eating. Definitely a place I would go to again when I visit NY again
