Gersi - Brooklyn
Gersi
Description
The restaurant had a mix of reviews, with some diners praising the outstanding food like the vegetable momo and garlic nan, while others were disappointed with the Indian cuisine and service. The exceptional quality of the food was consistently highlighted, with fresh produce and great presentation. However, noise levels, cramped space, and slow service prompted some patrons not to return. The cash-only policy caught some customers off guard. Overall, while the food received high praise, there were significant issues with service and ambiance that may affect a diner's decision to return.

We were a group of 7 celebrating a birthday looking for a new restaurant. Our server Douglas was extremely attentive and offered excellent meal suggestions. We tried a wide variety of appetizers, entrees and desserts. The pastas were fresh, and the pork chops and steak were deliciously tender. Let’s not forget the home made desserts! I think we found our new go to! Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Amazing food. All the proteins were delicious and cooked to perfection. Staff was super friendly and accommodating for our engagement party with family. Highly recommend!! Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Stopped in after a show absolutely starving. Glad we did! This place serves Italian size servings. I’m a sucker for black linguine and seafood dishes and the portions did not disappoint clams and calamari to my heart’s delight. The clam sauce dish was very flavorful. The calamari dish maybe could have been a little more flavorful but it was still delicious. I’m also a sucker for prosciutto with fruit so we started with that again, generous portions! Hit the spot. Tiramisu was good and massive too on the creamier side in terms of lady finger/cream ratio. Vibes also were perfect: quiet, cozy and lowkey. It felt like we had the place to ourselves. You can also see the kitchen a little bit which is always fun. Will have to return for the lemon pasta Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Excellent neighborhood spot. We started with bruschetta and roasted eggplant. The eggplant was delicious. Then I had rigatoni ragu. It's a fairly simple dish (as are most things on the menu), but the pasta was cooked perfectly and it tasted great. Itasted the carbonara and thought it was delicious too. For dessert we shared the molten cake and panna cotta. Both were greatbut the panna cotta was a standout. Service was friendly and professional. Back patio was cozy, quiet, and charming. There aremany other Italian restaurants in the neighborhood I have yet to try, but I will definitely return here at some point.
We sat in the garden area. It felt cozy, but spacious enough. The food was absolutely incredible. They are really striving for authenticity and simple but delicious dishes. Service was excellent and quick. We had 4 different pasta dishes and the favoriteswere the carbonara and the spaghetti limone. I also had a great martini. Will definitely be returning for special occasions!
