Whoa. This place is good, good, good! I'm usually underwhelmed by Mexican restaurants in NYC, but Fonda is an exception. I put it on the same level as Casa Enrique in LIC. The space is small and seating is limited, so reservations are encouraged. View all feedback.
What Mariel doesn't like about Fonda:
We have been enjoying Fonda for a few years now, this time found the service lacking and the food, while very good, lacked the usual side accompaniments enjoyed in the past. A little disappointing but we will give it another try in the near future. In answer to the next question re: recommending, I would wait until after my next visit to recommend Fonda again (although I have enthusiastically recommended in the past)... View all feedback.
Great! Only thing was we were super cramped. I know itâs hard with kids, but a little extra space would have been nice, and we would have ordered more and stayed longer.
Best high-class Mexican food anywhere. And donât forget to sample those margaritas!
Eat excellent. service very good. but much too loud, my friend and I had to yell at each other. no talk. something has to be done to absorb the noise.
Although their menu generally doesnât change (except for specials) the food, presentation and service are consistently good. Sat in the backyard- they had fans going to move the air around and it was very pleasant. This is the place you go when you want authentic Mexican cooking north of the boarder.
Great food and service. Noise level is a bit much but otherwise great vibe.
