A must-visit! The food and drinks here not only provide satisfaction but also bring delight and comfort. There is great attention to detail in the selection of high-quality ingredients and the preparation of the meals, featuring contemporary twists alongside familiar, tried-and-true recipes. The wine and beer options perfectly complement the menu. The inviting atmosphere enhances the incredible taste of the food, and I've found myself returning to Chio several times in the past few months.
We brought our two young children along and ordered the veal ricotta meatballs and a margherita flatbread (pizza). Both were exceptional! My wife chose the chitarra, which nearly brought her to tears of joy, while I opted for the cavatelli made from scratch, paired with fennel sausage and broccoli rabe. We told our fantastic waitress that we would have licked our plates clean if it weren't for a little thing called shame. This was, without a doubt, the best food we've enjoyed in the twenty years we've lived and dined in the Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill area. The only place that comes close is Saul, and we even had the pleasure of outdoor seating. We usually skip dessert, but we couldn't resist trying the mascarpone with caramelized figs—so delicious that I actually thought about renaming my son after the chef! Please don't let this gem be overshadowed by other Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. Eating here reminded me of my last visit to Rome—not just because of the type of food, but due to the fresh ingredients and perfectly executed pasta, cheese, and sausage. Outstanding!
Delicious! Definitely worth the trip. It's a relaxed atmosphere with the same amazing flavor and location as Pok Pok, but without the long wait times.
This place is no doubt one of the best restaurants in the neighborhood. Always when I visit this place I am very satisfied. They hold their high level service and the highest level of cooking they serve. You can never go wrong with this restaurant. Highly recommended.
