Boutros, a hidden gem in Brooklyn, has captivated diners with its inventive twist on Mediterranean cuisine. The menu expertly highlights a selection of dishes, such as the short rib hummus and labneh, showcasing simplicity without compromising flavor. While the atmosphere is warm and inviting, serving both families and couples alike, some patrons note inconsistencies in authenticity and portion sizes. Nonetheless, the praised cocktails and standout entrees, including pork shank and mezze, keep guests returning. With a dedicated chef at the helm, Boutros is rapidly becoming a must-visit destination for foodies and casual diners in the area.
I visited this restaurant based on the positive reviews and had high hopes. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. While it's not terrible, don't expect authentic Lebanese cuisine. The portions were small, the prices were high, and the dishes lacked refinement. The pita was decent, though.
I love so many things about Boutros. Being a Cobble Hill native, originally from Yemen, I was so happy to see a middle eastern fine dining establishment open on Atlantic avenue. The fatoush is probably the best version I’ve ever had phenomenal. Their take on felafel and batata harra very notable. The service has been lovely each time we visit. The one thing that I didn’t understand, however, was the overpowering use of cumin (and perhaps touch of fenugreek? in the hummus dishes. The hummus was missing bite (garlic, lemon, salt, sumac something we tried the short rib, mushroom and plain hummus dishes. All with the same cumin profile. Brunch there was equally tasty (though I will say my omelette was completely unsalted it was, however, very herbaceous . All in all, very inventive and thoughtful menu will definitely be eating here again.
Provides credence the the principle of simplicity over variety. Boutros has a menu that's on the shorter side but everything they do is done very well. You can't go wrong, but would particularly recommend the Labneh and chicken.
