I came on a Sunday at around 1PM. The place was basically empty. Had I read the reviews beforehand, I might have steered clear. But I'm pleasantly surprised. Speedy service, soft bagel, didn't skimp on lox or cream cheese. It's expensive, but so is every bagel shop within walking distance. I am proceeding with caution but I think I'll come again. What Brandon Carter doesn't like about Bergen Bagels On Fulton:
Got a bagel with lox and the works, so capers, onions, tomato, and cream cheese. The bagel was the only thing that tasted remotely fresh. The lox was honestly stomach-churning... it was very slimy and fatty with a slightly odd taste. View all feedback.
It feels like they’re deliberately doing everything as slow as they possibly can so you let go and leave. It’s like that so often too. There’d be a line of customers and they would defiantly restock the window and ignore everybody for 10 minutes or so.
The best breakfast space in the area for fast bites on the go. Everything taste fresh and the staff are so speedy. Great customer service.
Tried two of the newer fancier bagel joints in Bed-Stuy. One didn't have plain or cinnamon raisin, another I waited 10 min on a line with 3 people then realized they were struggling under all the delivery orders. Then I hauled it over to Clinton Hill and Bergen Bagels. Old school bagel spot. Walked in, got a dozen bagels, great service, and walked out in 7 min. Bagels were also less expensive and just as tasty as the fancy spots.
Mid AF bagel and cream. Blueberries were completely absent from the Blueberry bagel (seems to be food coloring or syrup or something) . No blueberry taste even. Cream cheese has a moldy brie flavor. Decent prices though and nice space and staff
Absolutely delicious chicken club wrap. Chicken was nicely seasoned, crispy bacon, fresh tomato. Great size too
