Bahar - Brooklyn
Bahar
Description
Overall, the restaurant has received mixed reviews. While some customers have expressed disappointment at the decline in food quality since a change in management, others have praised certain dishes such as the Chinese dumplings and Afghan Palao. Some have also noted issues with consistency in available menu items. Despite these drawbacks, the restaurant remains a popular choice for those seeking halal options and flavorful fusion cuisine. It is recommended to try the Chinese dumplings and sesame chicken, but be aware of potential inconsistencies in meat quality and availability of certain dishes.

The food at this restaurant is unappetizing and revolting. Additionally, they served me food that seemed to be at least 2 to 3 days old.
This place is such a junkie. When i call for chinese order the guy tells me that his chinese chef is not here and now i wanted to order Afgani, he said the afgani chef is not here. How this place not out of business???
I ordered the Fried Chicken dumplings and the Sesame Chicken with fried rice, just like the previous review. It was delicious, and the chicken was sweet! I will definitely be returning to try more dishes. Plus, it's halal!
The Place was clean, family friendly and great for large group gathering. I would give it 3.5 out of 5.Although the place is called “Halal Chinese Afghani Cuisine “it’s not Authentic Afghani food, I would say it’s more of a Pakistani Fusion of Afghani Food. Don’t get me wrong, the food was quite good but spending time in Kabul, you tend to see the difference between Authentic Version and Fusion just as same as anyone would when they visit China and eat “Actual Chinese Food” compared to the American Fusion version completely different …I loved the Chinese Dumplings, quite nice in flavor – Highly Recommend it. The shrimps we had were somewhat chewy – a little overdone … The Kababs and Food were good in flavor but compared to Afghani version, you will find it somewhat more flavorful/spicy (hence the Pakistani Fusion). The Meat quality I would say has taken a big hit since new management came in, they should work on this. Also, I have noticed how the meat is no longer being served the way it used to, meaning the proportion of Fat to meat has changed either this is because of change of meat supplier or the fact new management does not understand this concept.
