The food at this place is very delicious, if you have taste buds for West Indian Cuisine this place will satisfy just that, they also serve homemade Sorrel, and carry many West Indian Products, they also serve Tamarind Sauce. The only thing is their stew King Fish is kinda tough to chew, still it's served with a delicious plate of rice, gravy, and steamed vegetables!! This is a cool go-to-spot for the finest in West... What Sharhenda Mccloud doesn't like about Ali's Roti Shop:
Good only for take out because the lines are sl long the tables have to be moved. It's been my go to for years. This last time I was dissatisfied, I purchased 3 roti . 1 shrimp 1 goat and 1 chicken all had a sour taste to them. I believe the tamarin sauce was sour spoiled. I'll skip it next time. $53 of waste. 1rst bad experience there so i will return View all feedback.
This was my first experience with Trinidadian cuisine, and overall, I had a great time at the restaurant. I tried the Doubles with Chana and the Wrapped Veggie Dahl Puri. The Doubles had a nice flavor, but the Dahl Puri was my favorite—it's huge! Be aware that the restaurant tends to get quite busy during lunch hours. I placed my order in advance through Seamless. Good food overall!
I?ve been eating at Ali?s since the early 90?s and there food and service is great. I chose them to cater food for an event that I had and they truly DISAPPOINTED me. I placed the order a week prior to the event and paid in full. My pickup time was supposedly to be at 2pm. I arrived at 2pm and they told me that the order wasn?t ready to come back in an hour. I went back at 3:25 just to give them time and the order still was not ready. Being an hour and a half lateset me back and made me late to a very important event! Not only was the food late, they packed the curry chicken poorly having the sauce spill out all over my car when placing it in the trunk. Never again would I cater from them
I ordered the fish for lunch, and it was served on a platter with roti on the side. I think the fish was the best choice compared to what my coworkers ordered. It was crispy and sweet, and the lentils were excellent for dipping the roti. However, I wish they offered more vegetables instead of so many starchy options.
It could have easily been a five-star review. The roti was delicious, but the curry chicken could use a bit more seasoning. I haven't been here in years, and I was surprised to see that they still haven't added a second step outside. I watched several elderly patrons struggling to get up and down. Please add a step! Also, I noticed there were no menus or prices available. What’s going on?
I'm happy vegetarian meals are sold here, i had veg roti and large soup for $18 the roti took me two days to finish ????. The staff at this location seems nice, they're not afraid to speak with their customers with a little humor.
