I am sad to say goodbye! I have been a loyal customer at this restaurant for seven years. However, my last five visits to Calexico in the past three months have been consistently disappointing. The staff is still great, but it seems like they may have changed their recipes to cut costs. Unfortunately, they have lost me as a customer. I used to rely on fresh ingredients and generous servings of guacamole, but that is no longer the case. Calexico has become very basic. I will now have to find a new favorite spot or simply go without a 1200 calorie burrito.
I have visited this restaurant a few times before and found it to be pretty good, however, my most recent experience was terrible. I ordered a pork quesadilla and it tasted like the pork had been scraped off the bottom of the grill. It had a burnt taste and there were black spots all over the pork.
