From being ignored in a private room to experiencing rushed and flavorless food, this dining experience was one to forget. In stark contrast, another group enjoyed a lavish Sunday brunch at Oskars, where an impressive buffet spread and attentive service left a lasting impression. Despite some discrepancies in service quality and reservations policy, the delightful food and elegant atmosphere make Oscar's a recommended spot for a memorable meal.
The hostess dropped us off immediately. The choice at breakfast is buffet or menu - we ordered from the menu. The menu has healthy choices, and I had the avocado and poached egg on toast. The main course was delivered within 20 minutes and served hot. Menu prices are the same as a Waldorf Astoria, but a bit expensive for the Orlando area.
The food at Oscar is great and we love to go to brunch and recommend it to everyone! However, please note that as a guideline, they do not accept reservations - even if you book through OpenTable! Sitting is based on the "first come, first served" principle. Note that if the seats are full, they will accept online reservations with no intention of honoring them.
A group of us stuck in Mickey Land for a convention were looking for a Sunday brunch spot. Oskars in Waldorf sounded like what we wanted and off we went. While I'm not a fan of buffets, this one looked amazing, with more variety than usual including a smoked salmon bar, ham bar, and honey dripping from a honeycomb! There were a lot of families with kids so it was a bit noisy but that didn't really affect ... everything the group of 4 tried we loved. Only two things that were a little strange was that the cost of the buffet only included mimosas, not **** Marys and no eggs Benedict on the buffet. However, what impressed me most was the commitment to making the customer happy. When I got to the salmon bar it was empty even though two staff members I asked told me it would be replenished. When I mentioned it to our waiter he came back and said they were going out which was disappointing. The manager came over apologetically and said they even sent Hikton next door but they were out until Monday ... not what I wanted to hear. 15 minutes later the manager appeared with a plate of the best smoked salmon I've had in a long time ... THAT is service.
Breakfast buffet in Waldorf Astoria Excellent selection Excellent food Very pleasant experience
We had breakfast here this morning when we were at the Waldorf Astoria. The food was exceptional at the buffet with plenty of choice. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and sweet. Today is my husband's birthday. I mentioned it when I made my reservation. Since this is a breakfast restaurant, I just expected that they would wish my husband a happy birthday. They went way beyond that by bringing out a personalized cake with a candle and the words "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on the plate. What a reward; what a pleasure! It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny!
