Cracker Barrel - Brookhaven
Cracker Barrel
Description
**Dining Experience at Cracker Barrel: A Mixed Bag**
At Cracker Barrel, diners can expect the familiar comfort of home-style meals at affordable prices, often under $10. While many patrons praise the quality of dishes like the fried chicken and pancakes, there are notable service inconsistencies that detract from the overall experience. Issues often arise from understaffing and distracted servers, leading to delays in basic service elements like drink refills and food delivery. Despite these drawbacks, some guests highlight friendly staff members who elevate their visits. As Cracker Barrel navigates post-pandemic challenges, the potential for an enjoyable experience remains, but improvements in service are essential.
Feedback
The service initially started off a bit slow but improved significantly. The food was quite good, though the coffee was mostly watered down.
They put in a lot of effort, but the restaurant was understaffed, which affected the service. The coffee was left on the burner for hours before being served. However, the food was excellent.
We had dinner on June 2nd after a long trip from Guntersville. Pat ordered breakfast pancakes, while I had the catfish, hash brown casserole, and cold, shiny fish. The catfish was good with the hash browns, but the cold fish was dry and seemed a bit old. The pancakes were excellent. The service was friendly and very professional. However, compared to other restaurants in this chain, this one was below average. It might have only opened due to the pandemic or some other issue.
