There's a saying here that something is "tougher than a boiled owl." I enjoy food that requires a bit of chewing, but this donair was incredibly tough. The flavor was good, but the texture ruined it for me. I recommend driving a bit further to Bible Hill, right next to Truro. It's only another 15-20 minutes away, but you'll be much happier. The top of Pictou Road and a tavern at the bottom are your best bets for a great donair.

I enjoy baked food, but... read more We recently tried the donair at this restaurant after it changed ownership. There is a saying here that it is harder than a boiled owl. I enjoy baked food, but the donair was so tough it was surprising. The flavor was good, but the texture was off-putting. I would suggest they relocate to Bible Hill near Truro, as it would likely make both the owners and customers happier. Their best locations are on Pictou Rd and at the bottom of a tavern for those looking for a big donair.
