Hello, I’m an elderly man, and I recently visited this café for a cream latte and a biscuit. At first, the service was quite friendly, and I had a nice chat with the young lady at the counter about the weather. However, when I tried to place my order for the cream latte and a biscuit, the man at the coffee machine kept steaming milk right as I was trying to speak, making it impossible for the lady to hear me. By the third attempt, I was so frustrated that I had to call out to him to stop, as I was trying to place my order. He looked at me as if he had never heard of a cream latte and seemed to think the biscuits were complimentary, so there was no need to ask for one. I took a moment to collect my thoughts and review the menu before attempting to order again. This time, the man started banging the milk jug on the counter, and I could tell that’s what he was doing, even though it created quite a disruptive noise. I raised my voice to place my order over the racket, and to my surprise, the previously polite young lady told me I had to leave because of all the shouting. It’s safe to say that I won’t be returning, and I'm relieved it has since closed down.
I really enjoyed the healthier grilled full English breakfast. The decor was unique and charming, with a distinctly feminine touch. It felt more like a tea room than a cafe. The ladies and the service were delightful as well.
There's not much to elaborate on regarding the egg toast and coffee, but I must say they offered the best quality breakfast I've had in a long time. It was on par with what you'd expect from a first-rate hotel, and far superior to any other breakfast spot in Biggin Hill. If you're looking for a lovely breakfast experience with your partner, this place is definitely worth a visit!
