This is a famous place, one of the few German restaurants left in Queens. Great beer options. The macaroni and cheese was exceptional as an appetizer. (Kasespatzel) Smoked pork was delicious, leberkase interesting, but the best was the Jaegerschnitzel. Can't go wrong with a Black Forest Cake. View all feedback.
What catherine c doesn't like about Zum Stammtisch:
I ordered hamburger my husband ordered the Bosch and a salad. The wash comes out first if the 20 minutes of not receiving the salad for us to share all my hamburger he gives back the Bosch and says this is supposed to come out with my wife's hamburger it's ice cold we weigh 20 minutes for the salad and another half hour for the hamburger and the borsche service was disgusting absolutely disgusting. Wonderful old-style German food--and large portions. There is also a wide selection of German beers. The restaurant gets crowded, but customers aren't rushed. Great, festive atmosphere. A great experience!
Great German food and beer. My extended family live in Queens and have gone there for decades
Steak tartar appetizer. Also the bread is super fresh.
The only complaint I have is the bread, taste like cardboard, change it!!!!
A throwback to simpler days, consistent good food, friendly servers and down to earth patrons. No fanfare, just great German cuisine
