$20 for two of us to eat a NY phenomenal street vendor food truck. “Eat where the locals eat.” And we did. Took lunch over to the lobby of nearby high rise and ate in the warmth. Wife and I both had the gyro lamb/beef combo with the works. The spicy sauce is tasty and has a good kick. Tzatziki sauce cut that heat just right.
What Food R doesn't like about Uncle Gussy's:
Jul 2019 photo on Park Ave 51st, was looking forward to try their talked about Gyro. Unfortunately for my taste was too greasy, the meat was a bit dry and lacked seasoning. Have tried better Gyro's. Great takeout spot for lunch. Line can be long, but it goes fast. Portions are generous. Everything is tasty.
Had it for lunch today. Overall it is pretty delicious and they are generous with the tzatziki sauce. I love that the tzatziki sauce is nice and oniony, it leaves that Greek food taste that I miss from my years of living in Astoria. I shall return.
A little greasy. For the area, different taste from all the regulars. Grab take out and eat in a near by public park. Line is long but moves quickly. Cash only!
I got the chicken with rice and the seasoned fries. It was really tasty; specially the fries. Go early if you want lamb. They go through it pretty fast.
Can’t even describe how amazing this place is! Delicious, super quick the staff was incredibly friendly.
