Decent ramen place in Hyde Park. Honestly liked the appetizer gyozas much more, the sauce and chili oil they bathe it in is delicious and the ramen is alright, but it’s a decent place to get a quick lunch or dinner. They have a spice challenge which is pretty cool too! View all feedback.
What Jessica Castellanos doesn't like about Strings Ramen Shop Hyde Park:
No vegan ramen. Very strange! It's so easy, and they have it at the Lakeview location. Lagging behind other Japanese restaurants with more forward-thinking options View all feedback.
Best location in Chicago, the broth is similar (if tonkatsu) to the Chinatown location but the pork is significantly more consistent here. Order the level 3 ramen if you want moderate spice but not to drown out the other flavors. Don't order the premium broth, it's always weird and the clams don't really add anything.
Long wait times mediocre fare save yourself some time and just go to ramen san or any of the options in Chinatown. Can only see this as an option If you’re limited to the Hyde park area.
Where are the people?? Hyde park?? You guys better support this place before it’s too late..I came in yesterday it was very quiet unlike the one in Chinatown.. food quality and service just the same.. I’ll be back thanks for having us
Update: I have gotten free ramen twice working on the third card. I absolutely love this place. Remember to ask for a ramen card. You get free ramen after 10 visits.
I have been to a couple Strings locations and this one was on par. Everything was delicious. Strings is always a solid ramen choice.
