Service is so prompt and great. Food is also good I loved pea shoot and fried fish the most. We waited for the restaurant to open on Saturday. And it was packed within an hour. View all feedback.
What Julian T doesn't like about Café China:
First off, poor prepping. The loofah in Loofah with Dried Scallops 丝瓜扇贝 is not even deseeded. I had to constantly spit out seeds. And I found green onion roots floating in my Kung Pao Chicken 宫保鸡丁, which is poorly seasoned. Usually sour, lightly sweet, Cafe Chinas rendition of this classic dish tastes only of salt, white pepper and low quality vinegar. As a Sichuan/Shanghai restaurant, Cafe China has no idea... Shrimp fried rice was really good. Spicy soft shell crab was good but lots of chili oil, so definitely had a kick. Tea smoked duck didnt come with any sauce, so a little dry. Pan fried pork buns were good.
For the quality of food, and especially for the location, the prices were very reasonable! The food never disappoints either!
I ordered the spicy fish fillet and sauteed sting beans, and it was delicious. The portions were very generous. I would absolutely order from here again.
Best Chinese food in the city. Its super fast and reliable. The spicy fish fillets and ma po tofu are must-haves. Other good options include the cold noodles with shredded chicken, spicy cumin lamb, and kung pao chicken.

As a Sichuan/Shanghai restaurant, Cafe China has no idea how to do Sichuan. Any two-bits home chef can do better than them. Dont waste your money here. 2 stars for getting the ingredients correct. (Although technically, you dont use green onion. You use negi.
