What Maggie doesn't like about Bxl Cafe:
We were a party of 4, pre theatre lunch. Three in the party had salads, and one had the chicken and waffles. All of the entrees were quite good. The salads were generously proportioned. The chicken waffles came with frites (fries) delicious, but too much carbs, so the frites were shared. There should be an option for frites or side salad. The service at this restaurant was very polite and fast. We went for brunch and the food was fantastic. We tried the warm goat cheese salad, Thai seasoned mussels, steak frites, and breakfast omelettes. The Prosecco was also delicious!
Mussels were great. Shrimp croquette was mushy and tasteless. Excellent selection of drinks. Friendly staff. It can feel crowded.
I have been going to BXL Cafe for many years. It never changes thankfully!
WE ordered the grilled shrimp appetizer which never came. Ordered 2 burgers both medium. My wife's was **** rare and sent it back for more fire and mine was well done. I just ate it anyway. The desserts were really good.
Service was quick and friendly. Food was good. A little too loud for my taste. Tight fit so the table next to me was pretty loud.
